This depends. Firstly if you live in the city there may not be any starter flutes that cost under 500 dollars, so you may need to leave the city a bit and buy from a local town. And second, if you need a starter Flute there should be some rather good ones for under 500 dollars, but if not, you will have to go above 1000 dollars. Starter flutes are only if your starting.
Many people look for brands when deciding quality. While brand recognition will in many cases help identify quality products, often times people will sacrifice pricing over it. A little known fact is that a factory will produce a musical instrument and distribute it to several warehouses and distributors and each will add their own name brand and model number to the instrument.
As a result you will have the exact same instrument selling for hundreds if not thousands of dollars more than the off-brand / not so popular brands. You will be better off looking for a musical instrument website that sells cheap flutes. When buying online, make sure the selling site backs up their product with a money back guarantee, that way you can can return the flute if it does not live up to your expectations.
You go to a music shop and ask there if they have any left handed flutes and then if they do then if you want it you buy it. You can also hire a left handed flute if there is such a thing but when you hire it you need to pay every ........ month becauce its not yours and youre borrowing it. I play flute and I am 50% sure that that there is no such thing. Anyway I used to play recorder and the teacher had a go at us if we used our right hand and the other day when I found my recorder I automatically held it with my left hand!Anyway never play a recorder it has a dreadfull squeaky sound!
Since you are the only one who knows what type and what quality flute you are looking for, the best way to find the best price is to survey the stores that sell instruments in your area, then compare those prices with classified ads or internet sites that are selling flutes. Don't forget second hand shops and thrift stores. You don't need to travel all over town, use the telephone to do your investigation locally.
It pays to do your own research to find the best deal.
Cheap flutes are not good flutes, but Bundy makes a pretty usable flute at a lower price.

Unless you want to buy theworst flute possible, you won't find a beginner one for under $100. I got my beginner flute for over $250, but this was at a reasonable store. Some advice--don't be too cheap. Never buy on Amazon or EBAY or anything online, because then you won't really know what you're getting.
Samperi
at the ocarina store
The flute used is a 'tin whistle' or 'penny whistle/flute'. Played in a similar style to the recorder but there is no whole at the back. I think it is used mainly in folk? You can easily buy them and they can be quite cheap - usually sold as souvenirs in northern European areas and also Ireland. I have a gold one! :D
