A person can go to a variety of places to buy acoustic guitar strings. One place in particular that is generally available nearby in any town is Best Buy. Additionally any local music stores should either have the strings in-stock or have the capability to order them.

∙ 13y agoAt a guitar store! In most even small towns there are at least one guitar store. I've been working as a guitar tech in my town for the last four years, we carry about 75 different types of electric guitar and bass strings, try using Google to search for guitar stores in your area, that our use the yellow pages.
if you're buying Electric Guitar strings I recommend buying EVH (Eddy van Halen) strings, these are my favorite strings, they've got a great feeling, and are generally cheap, 7-10 dollars a package at the guitar stores where I live

∙ 13y agoby yourself, its very easy as long as you have wire cutters from even a dollar store and a tuner, theres no wrong way to do it as long as they go in tune and don't sound awkward.
