Beethoven was said to have walked a lot as there were obviously no trains, buses or cars during those times. also, at one time, he walked about 2 miles something just to get to a concert that he had heard of with a organist he very much liked and when it finished, he simply turned around and walked back home! also, he had to get to other places to perform so he would have had to get there as well.
