∙ 14y agoThe members of Daft Punk (Thomas Bangalter and Guy Manuel de Homem Christo) were in a rock band called Darlin' in school with another friend. When the made some songs, a reviewer from the UK made a negative article about it. In one line he stated "it's a bunch of daft punk", which then caused Thomas and Guy to leave their friend and be Daft Punk. So technically, the name came from the UK.
