I believe that there is a covert threat in this song by the `first person` targeting the individual who "stole" his girl

"If you're wrapping up the world,

cause you've taken someone else's girl"

and he means business because he is threatening to shoot him

"When you wake in the morning

wake to find you're covered in cellophane

Well there's a hole in there somewhere"

"You want it, you got it, now you know"

And I think it also influenced the way people looked at this other `dark` song, "in the air tonight"
