Where is the freeze plug located on a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4.0L I-6 for use to install an engine block heater?

I have a 94 Grand Cherokee, and the Block heater is on the drivers side front of the block. From under the front, you can see it, about 1/2 way up. Your plug, as your asking, if I get it right, comes out from there, just follow the cord till you find the end.

∙ 16y agoThe freeze plugs are located on the driver's side of the motor, behind the exhaust manifold tubes. There is also a freeze plug on the backside of the head against the firewall. This one would not be used for inserting the block heater, however.

∙ 18y agobottom of the motor on both sides you should see a line of silver discs about 1 1/2 inches in diameter these are your freeze plugs.

∙ 17y agoIf you did not have one installed there wont be one, it is not a standard option but if it does have one you will probably find it at the front of the car at the grill or below.

If you have all the parts out and clean. I have see it done. Freeze your wrist pins. heat your piston rod. Assemble quickly. This is the only way I know how with out a press.

IF it's a small block- V-8 there are 2 plugs, one on each side of the motor beneath the Exaust manifolds-ABOUT in the middle of the motor & usally take a 9/16 inch socket 2 remove them-I install NEW petcocks instead of the plugs so as not to need sockets the next time-IF U are going 2 drain on a regular basis.
