A good quality obeoe can be purchased in a musical instrument store. here you can try the instrument before purchase. There are options available on line however, you would be wise to seek out a specialist woodwind supplier
The piccolo oboe is the smallest you can buy, but you could make yourself a mini oboe! :)
A medieval oboe would be called the shawm
"I enjoyed the woodwind quintet recital, but I would have liked to have heard more oboe solos."
you cant you need to buy a new one. they dont cost much. Improved by an oboe player: Some people say you can soak the wooden tip in some warm water to clean is off. And oboe reeds cost at about $12.00

You can buy an oboe swab at mostly any music stores. It is basically a fine fabric with a weight at the end that will drag the swab down through the oboe, cleaning out the spit.

There is the heckelphone, the bass oboe, the cor anglais, the oboe d'amore, the regular oboe, and the piccolo oboe. Maybe there are others.
