I know for personal experience that Catholics, Presbyterians, Lutherans, Episcopalians, and Baptists all consider music to be an important part of worship.
Hopefully, someone else will complete the list.
Christians listen to a wide variety of music and can be specifically Christian Music or something else. Typically they wouldn't listen to anything promoting sinful things.
Yes, but they are more like the Fray and Paramore in how they present their message. They aren't trying to convert anymore or anything along those lines they just use their faith to power their music. Kind of cool if you ask me.
Some denominations feel that, in regards to worship services, specifics not explicitly permitted in the New Testament are not permitted, even if they are permitted in the Old Testament. Modern conveniences, such as electric lighting, are excused as "aids" to worship. Only a very few denominations have such a belief. One is the Church Of Christ. The majority do not subscribe to this belief. One of the main scriptures they use to base the belief that you are to not use musical instruments is In Ephesians 5:19, "Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord."
The Fray do not consider themselves a Christian band, because as they truly are Christian, they wanted to use their music to reach out to the non-Christian people and lead them to God. The members of the group, though, are all Christian, and their musical background is in Church Worship Groups. Their lyrics do not openly allude to God, but, the message is there. In addition to this The Fray has appeared on national Christian radio station WAY-FM on at least one occasion.
The song "Blessed Be the Name of the Lord" is sung by Matt Redman not a band. Many churches and Christian organisations use this song for praise worship.
There are too many to count, many are long forgotten or unpopular, and others like "Amazing Grace" and "Hark ye herald angels sing" are well known. There is also modern christian music, which can possibly be considered "hyms".
Christian Mingle is an ecumenical Christian dating site. In other words, Christians of all denominations are welcome to use the services. The site has testimonials from pastors from such a variety of churches as Presbyterian and Baptist.
The Bible is believed to be the word of God. Pentecostals use it like most other Christian denominations. They use it as a meter stick on how they are to live their lives (what to do or not to do). The Bible is comparable to the Torah (Judaism) or the Koran (Islam). The Bible has much to say about worship. "Sing onto the Lord a new song", "shout with a voice of triumph", and "dance before the Lord" are a few examples. There are many verses about worship and how to worship.
No.
Its is considered a form of worship. Yes they do
A good example of contrasts among Christian traditions relates to the taking of the Lord's Supper, known in some denominations as Holy Communion. Some denominations take it weekly, while others rarely. Some denominations use wine while others use grape juice.
The Christian Reformed Church primarily uses the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible for their worship services and teachings. They may also reference other versions such as the King James Version (KJV) or the English Standard Version (ESV) for study and interpretation.
Some Christian denominations use the term, usually Protestant ones such as Lutheran.
Orthodox Christians use the same Bible as Catholics, Protestants, and most other Christian denominations.
Good question! I would try music stores.
Music ministry is the use of songs of praise and worship anywhere to spread the gospel message and/or encourage christians.
No, never. They are a Christan band and use their non-Christian music as a way to get more people to listen to their Christan music and maybe even come to know Jesus because of it. So to represent the God they worship, they don't cuss.
Yes, but they are more like the Fray and Paramore in how they present their message. They aren't trying to convert anymore or anything along those lines they just use their faith to power their music. Kind of cool if you ask me.
