Comfortably Numb. Its about 80 years old. C'mon, Now your not even trying. Comfortably Numb was released in 1980, 15 years after the band was formed. The song "Interstellar Overdrive" was performed in the film "Tonite Lets all Make Love in London" in January of 1967, but was not released as a single at that time. The first single released by Pink Floyd was "Arnold Layne" in March of 1967

Arnold Layne was created on 1967-03-11.
Pink Floyd recorded and released their first material through a contract with EMI (a division of Capitol Records) that was negotiated by their manager, Bryan Morrison. Their first single, "Arnold Layne" was released March 11, 1967, and was initially banned by radio stations due to cross-dressing references in the song. The last recording for EMI was "Dark Side of the Moon", which of course was a phenomenal commercial success. The first album for their new label, Columbia Records, was the 1975 release "Wish You Were Here".
At the time, the Floyd were not a world-famous band; they were mainly popular in their local circles in Cambridge at first. They were mainly an experimental jam-oriented band at first, but had a few 'hits' that were more traditional songs - 'Arnold Layne' and 'See Emily Play' are two notable examples.
