four number one hits: my girl i can't get next to you just my imagination papa was a rolling stone
I've heard this question a lot among my friends, and I have to admit that I don't think Sly and the Family Stone did a version of 'Papa was a Rolling Stone'. I also believe that many people may be confused by a version that circulated on 'Limewire' that listed Sly and the Family Stone as the artist, and in this era of MP3 players, everyone takes the error as gospel. I could be wrong, but I have tried to find a version done by The Family Stone, and each time it is 'The Temptations'....
