Symphony of Dissonance is a not-so-well-known metal band from Charlotte. They formed in the summer of 2006 known as Animus. Before this, the vocalist/keyboardist Kal Takdrakyn (known as Pixie) and the lead guitarist Kane Riot were in a similar band called Silent Heretic along with rhythm guitarist Ricardo Estrada (known as Oblivion at the time.) After releasing one song, the band fell apart due to the lack of production, a bassist, and a drummer. Then came Boomer Dimane. He had moved to Charlotte in 2006, for the second semester of his sophomore year, and soon became close friends with Kane Riot. He then joined the band as drummer, and the new name was Animus. Their Myspace accountis constantly updated with new song releases, and member updates. They are still searching vigorously for a drummer and a second lead guitarist.
