∙ 12y agoElvis saw a sign outside sun records in Memphis saying he could pay a few dollars and cut a record. he recorded my happiness for his mother. the woman who took Elvis booking famously asked him who does he sound like, to which Elvis replied i don't sound like nobody ma'am. after sam Phillips heard Elvis sing, he got him back into the studio with a few musicians, and when Elvis burst into that's alright mama, history was made.
