Prior to the 2007 anthology, Christopher Bond wrote the stage musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street in 1970, and Stephen Sondheim later adapted it again for stage in 1979.There have been several adaptations of the story, to include: the 1936 film by George King, the 1998 television movie, a ballet, and Tim Burton's 2007 movie.
