Well I know that John Ringo and George wanted to go their separate ways. But Paul still wanted to be in the band. But The Beatles didn't break up, until John met Yoko Ono, his wife, she was the big problem, and the other problem is Campbell shot John....... ;(
This is a somewhat controversial subject; The Beatles biographer (Hunter Davies) says it was the arrival of Yoko Ono.
However, a simpler explanation is that the Beatles changed - there is a strong record of bands breaking up when the members reach the age of 28 - Lennon was 28 in 1968 when he became disillusioned as a Beatle; people reach 28 and they usually have families of their own - three Beatles were married, two had children, hanging around with your mates didn't seem so much fun.
The Beatles came from a group called The Quarrymen, comprising of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Pete Best and Stuart Sutcliffe; they played around Liverpool England in the late 50s and early 60s, and were quite popular, Stuart died early of a brain hemorrhage and was replaced by George Harrison, and shortly after drummer Pete Best was replaced by Ringo Starr. The man who became their manager Brian Epstein, got to hear about them via the record shop he was managing and went to see for himself what the fuss was about. Realising the potential they had, he offered to manage them, and thus the Beatles were born; It is said that Brian wanted the name 'Beetles' but John suggested Beatles as 'beat' music was one of the things he liked at the time: true or not, we shall probably not know, as they are both deceased, but its one of those Beatles folklore tales...
Yoko Ono was usually the one blamed, but her presence was just one of numerous factors in their dissolution. Linda McCartney was likewise blamed. More to blame for the breakup were Lee Eastman (Linda's father, who became Paul McCartney's manager) and Allen Klein (who managed the other Beatles). Both wanted full control of the band's business dealings, couldn't come to an agreement, and played their clients against each other. Phil Spector actually blamed himself for the band's breakup; some of the groups he had produced had fallen apart after he worked with them. His changes to "The Long And Winding Road" infuriated McCartney enough to publicly state he was leaving the Beatles, but the breakup was already in the works before Spector came on the scene. A recent Rolling Stone article laid the blame for the Beatles' breakup at John Lennon's feet. Yoko Ono encouraged him to do more things on his own, but the ultimate decision to leave the band was Lennon's, and he was the first to quit permanently.
The label that signed them was parlophone in the U.K. Later on they were signed by capital records in the U.S. they were discovered by Brian Epstein. They later founded Apple records because they wanted make their own decisions on their albums
