There are several different songs by different grouos ( shadows of Knight), Gloria, is not cheerriie, ( a different song)- The familiar Laura Brannigan song which seems to be about She of All the Russias... and a number of hymns. also a French Battleship from l859 La Gloire. Glory be, indeed.

There are several different songs bearing this title- Probably the best known was by the late Laura Brannigan (Gloria), There was a doo-wop song called Gloria in the Fifties ( Gloria- is not Sherry), sung by The Cadillacs- some thought it was borderline blasphemous- as this word is often used in, say Christmas Carols.- finally one by a group called the Shadows of Knight ( caped crusader indeed, not the Batman variety!) The most popular is the Brannigan version which seems to be about an Anastasia-type character beset with memory losses- ( But you really can"t remember) is one of the themes.
