I don't know all of them but I can tell you that Mike Shellacy (sp?), Byron Metcalf, John Thrasher and Bill Loden have all played drums in the Urban Cowboy Band, which was/is the live back-up band for Gilley from the Urban Cowboy days, on. Prior to that the band was called the Red Rose Express. Shellacy was with Gilley from, I believe, the 60's, the rest came after the Urban Cowboy movie. The studio drummers on the albums were mostly Nashville players chosen by the record company.
Mike was there from (nearly?) the beginning until '77 or '78 when Byron took over. Then came Donny Mars (sp?) for 2-3 months durring the USO tour. I took over from him from '85-'87, and Bill took over from me in 1988. I think there have been several others since gilley moved to Branson, although Bill has stayed with him that entire time, as well.
