A 37-year-old woman was raped early Sunday morning outside the DeLand Hilton, where she was attending a convention of the state's animal control officers, police said.The Lake Wales woman was attacked by a man she had been speaking to earlier Saturday evening, police investigator Paul Proctor said.Lanny W. Parkhurst, 37, St. Cloud, was charged with rape and disorderly conduct. Proctor said Parkhurst does not deny that he was with the woman, but insists there was no rape.Parkhurst, also known as disc jockey ''Crazy Lanny,'' was conversing with several women, including the Lake Wales woman, while playing music at the convention.
