Slayer is a thrash metal band, formed in 1981 in Huntington Park, California. They are known for their violent and satanic themes, and their fast, aggressive musical style.
It is a common misconception that Slayer is Nazi oriented, because many of their fans appear visually to be "skin-heads", but their lyrics do not promote the Nazi regime.
The group is Satanic. For example, in the song "The Antichrist", the lyrics include:
"Satan holds my future
Watch it unfold ".
However, the Satanism theme could be considered part of an image to promote the group as 'extreme'. Note that not all of the members are Satanists, as for example, Tom Araya has stated the following in an Interview:
"...Christ came and taught us about love, about doing unto others. That was his preach: Accept each other for who we are. Live peacefully, and love one another." When asked if he believed in God, replied "I believe in a supreme being, yeah. But He's an all-loving God."
Araya explained that he has a "really strong belief system," and Slayer's words and images will "never interfere with what I believe and how I feel.... People are not in good shape to where they have to question their own belief system because of a book or a story somebody wrote, or a Slayer song."
In fact, the only member that might be Satanic is Kerry King.

Slayer is a slow skill so I would be uncertain on how long you are willing to fight monsters. The only way to train Slayer is by getting Slayer tasks from the Slayer masters so try there first. Speaking to the Slayer master in the Edgeville Dungeon should be good for you. If your Slayer level is low then try speaking to the lower-level Slayer masters first and then build up to better ones.
