I'm not quite sure, but I believe that it goes like this:
Ringo - Rooster
George - Rabbit
John - Walrus
Paul - Hippo
There is a lot of dispute though. In the video for "I Am The Walrus", the Walrus is the one playing piano and singing, and the hippo is playing bass. However, in the song "Glass Onion", John Lennon sings this line:
I told you 'bout the walrus and me, man
You know that we're as close as can be, man
And here's another clue for you all
The walrus was Paul
So now we are made to believe that Paul is the walrus. Lennon later contradicts this in his solo song "God", when he sings:
I was the walrus, but now I'm John.
So we're told that John was the walrus. George Harrison, however, made a promo video for the song "When We Was Fab" in which a guy in a walrus costume is playing a left handed bass, again making us believe Paul was the walrus.
The main reason anyone cares is because of the famous "Paul is dead" hoax. It is believed the walrus is a symbolic reference to death in many cultures. However, I know for a fact that John was the walrus in Magical Mystery Tour as he sang "I Am The Walrus" and the walrus is singing and playing piano.
