∙ 7y agoTough question..since the group at the time sang in (almost) perfect harmony, with no discernable lead voice on many of their recordings. David Crosby was undeniably the main voice on most of that particular cut, along with considerable help in the high register from ex-Holly Graham Nash, support from ex-Buffalo Springfield Steven Stills, and a lot of overdubbing. The group Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young performed a song titled '4+20' at Woodstock.
Actually it was Crosby, Stills and Nash who played a set at Woodstock. Later on during the festival Neil Young joined them for a second set. The original lineup of performers was changed at the last minute due to the fact that some of the acts were stuck in traffic.
Yes, the CD The Best of Woodstock (Atlantic #82618-2) includes CSN&Y performing Wooden Ships.
