What the first step in being a wise consumer of media?

Being a critical audience member

Why was Christmas started?

AnswerChristmas is all about Mary, Joseph, and Jesus. Three wise men came to King Herod looking for baby Jesus. They brought Jesus Gold, Frankincense ( Frank in sense ) and Myrrh ( Mur ). When King Herod heard Jesus born king of the Jews was two, he commanded his army to kill every two year old baby alive. An angel told Joseph to run away to Egypt. He got Mary up and just in time, so they snuck out the back door. Christmas really means Christ's Mass. That is the story of Christmas and how it was created. Are you talking about the movie or the story of Christ?I know way more about the story of Christ's birth because I have never seen the movie.Long ago an angel came to Mary when she was praying and told her that she would have a baby boy and to name him Jesus (son of God). Mary told her fiancée, Joseph, but he thought that if she was going to have a child it meant she was no longer a virgin when if fact she was still a virgin. Another angel came to Joseph in is dream and told him to marry Mary because her son was the son of God. They had to travel to the town of Bethlehem to pay taxes and so they would be counted in the census and they could not find an inn to stay in. Finally after a long time of searching they found an inn keeper who let them stay in there barn. That night Christ was born in the inn's barn. A star appeared over baby Jesus' barn and 3 wise mean and Shepperd's came to praise the new born king. That is the shortened version of it and I did cut a few corners.

Who was the first to hear the good news of Jesus' birth?

The Bible doesn't specifically say who, but the first reported people to know of it were the shepherds in the nearby fields. Not having been recorded in scripture who was first other than the shepherds. It is most likely that the Wise men who came to see the Christ heard of His birth before the shepherds. The shepherds lived nearby, while the Wise men had some distance to travel.
