Bruce Springsteen wrote this song in 1978 recorded it for the Darkness on the Edge of Town album but didn't release it. Patti Smith, recording in the same studios, finished the lyrics on the song, recorded it and released it on her Easter album. Springsteen released that song with Smiths lyrics on the 2010 album The Promise.
Other versions of the song are recorded by 10.000 maniacs and even Kim Wilde.
