David Lee Roth until 1985 then Sammy hagar took over until 96 then for one year a guy name gary cherone sang from 1997 to 2000, from 2000 to 2003 van halen was frontmanless until mid 03 when hagar came back then left in mid 05 and since 2006 david lee roth currently is the front man, so to answer no there was no 5th singer
