New Answer: If the song goes "Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over" then it's "Don't Dream It's Over" by Sixpence None the Richer. The song was pretty big in the late 90's but is actually a cover of a song done in the 80's by Crowded House (who has a male lead singer.) So there's actually a female version and a male version out there :)
Okay, I know this song. I used to know all the words but i forget them! :( The song is by Hilary Duff and if I'm not mistaken, it was in "The Lizzie Mcguire Movie" back in 2003. This is a Disney song, so you may be able to find it on a Radio Disney Album. Hope the is helpful!
