According to my husband the lyrics were written by Adrieen Bruggen. He believes she actually just gave the lyrics away (he thinks to Emmy Lou Harris). Bruggen lived in Boulder Colorado at the time (1977-78) and was friends with Jock Bartley who hooked up with the Fallen Angels in Boulder. This was when there were tons of young musicians hanging out and playing in the Boulder area. For more information go to www.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleID=28147497683294

Let's dance in style, lets dance for a while Heaven can wait we're only watching the skies Hoping for the best but expecting the worst Are you going to drop the bomb dad? Let us die young or let us live forever We don't have the power but we never say never Sitting in a sandpit, life is a short trip The music's for the sad men Can you imagine when this race is won Turn our faces into the sun Praising our leaders we're getting in tune The music's being played by the madman Forever young, i want to be forever young Do you really want to live forever, or never Forever young, i want to be forever young Do you really want to live forever, or never -Dad's Rap- Forever young, i want to be forever young Do you really want to live forever, or never Forever young, i want to be forever young Do you really want to live forever, or never
