In old Europe, crows were often associated with war and death. In one legend, a crow would bring the final blow to heros who are dying on the battle feild. Other legends say that crows are a sign of death. Maybe, but in Native American culture crows are smart. In the East crows are good luck. Just like black cats, it depends on the culture. Like in some cultures black cats are good fortune, or a black cat sneezing means you will win the lottery. It depends on your outlook. :)
Original Answer:
Although some people think they are, they aren't. It's just a myth. Same thing with black cats. But if you happen to experience bad luck while you're near a crow or black cat, it's just pure coincidence.
Some may believe that the common crow also known as 'Corvus Brachyrhynchos' are indeed evil. They are portrayed this way in films such as Snow White. In a group they are called a 'murder' which may also give off an 'evil' impression. Furthermore, these birds like other birds pray on dead animal carcass which again brings the idea of death to mind.
Crows can be bad luck if they are in a group of three. One crow by itself doesn't mean anything.
Most would say no. Crows are associated with evil.
Crows are defined as belonging to the Genus Corvus which Ravens belong to so Ravens are basically crows. Starlings are only distantly related and are more closely related to mockingbirds.
A congress of crows, or a murder of crows.

Magpies do cackle like how crows squawk. A cackle is a laugh usually associated with witches and other evil beings known to be high pitched and very unique.

No, crows only have 2 legs.
He wasn't considered evil. The Greeks didn't define their gods as "good" or "evil". He was associated with darkness, which WE associate with evil.
Owls tend to be associated with wisdom, evil, Halloween and such.
it only applies to crows
Yes, but only until they see a safe landing. Crows are known to eat their OWN dead, which is, after all, only tidy, I suppose.
In my opinion yes. My aunt has recently died of a heart attack and for a week leading up to her death I noticed a lot of crows around. A group of about 15 when I was out walking was the most noticeable. I went to her house the day after she died and there were 3 on her roof. I made a point of looking on the roofs of all the other houses around but those 3 were the only crows around. I had never heard of this until my aunt had died and thought it was too much of a coincidence so looked it up on the internet. There are birds and crows around all the time, but there were so many crows it made me take notice. I've read a few posts on other sites which say that crows are scavengers and they may be looking for food, but my aunt lives 25 miles away and was fit and well until the day she died. I'm absolutely convinced the crows were a sign.
Most animals (such as bats, cats [usually black cats], wolves, spiders, rats, crows and ravens, etc.) are associated with Halloween because they are either nocturnal, dark in color and therefore associated with death, or associated with legends and monsters (bats = vampires, black cats = the familiars of witches or even witches themselves, wolves = werewolves, and spiders are just plain creepy. Also, crows and ravens are associated with death.)
