Why did Britney Spears have a meltdown?

when you have to much money, to much attention, to much pressure and power you crumble. She was drinking a lot of alcohol and had people around her she did not trust and was messed up from her divorce and in a heated custody battle. Her problems were mainly mental because for years she pretended to be this structured, perfect teen singer and so she started to rebel because she couldn't be the real her and had so much attention it drove her mad - she had no structure and everyone wanted a piece of her - anyone would crumble.

Because she lost her kids custody and shaved her head. Then, the paparazzi told the world she was crazy and she couldn't take all the rumors so she really did start to go kind of crazy. But she's better now.

She didn't go "Out of her mind crazy" She has been in the music business since she was 10 practically. And then she was on the Disney Mickey Mouse club with Justin Timberlake a year later. And then when she was 17 was world famous! She dated Justin and then they broke up in late 2002, and since Justin and her were so alike she became not so much herself without him, and started partying and went for a more grown up image, met Kevin Federline in 2004 and married him in 2005! He didn't love her like she did and they got divorced in 2007, which is the year she shaved her head. Shaving her head had nothing to do with her going crazy, many girls these days shave their heads! She was "shedding" bad things that had happened to her in the past. And the wasn't acting like her self because she basically lost who she was, and hung out with bad people because she was so lonely. I could go on forever but she was not crazy. You just have to know her story! :)

Britney Spears became famous when she was 14 or 15 so she was famous too early which caused her to go crazy.
