Now that John's dead, this can only be speculation but the band members' were all nervous before such a big performance and through their career they used humour as part of their act.
John Lennon was the Walrus, though apparently Ringo Starr wore the walrus costume for the Magical Mystery Tour film shoot. "The Walrus was Paul" was a phony clue, sung by John Lennon as a joke in "Glass Onion". Lennon's later song "God" included the lyrics "I was the Walrus, but now I'm John".
Yoko Ono probably commissioned him to make one. Warhol was acquainted with Lennon and Ono; a photo exists of the three giving each other a "group grope". Lennon kept name-checking Warhol during an early-1970s press interview ("Wouldn't it be great if Andy were here?") as a joke, leading the writer to conclude Lennon was obsessed with Warhol. He wasn't; the writer missed the joke.
She was essentially a mother of young children for her adult life; she put "cinema usherette" on her wedding certificate as a joke.

It came to John in a dream with a guy on top of a flaming pie told john "You are now Beatles" no joke.
John Winston Lennon was his real name. He changed his middle name to Ono to honor his wife. When he played on other artists songs, like Elton John, he used Dr. Winston O'Boogie as a joke name.

John Lennon, but at the moment it's made popular by the movie "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" Paolo Coelho - Not John Lennon. He's a Brazilian writer, I believe. I'm not convinced. Mr. Coelho quoted many other people himself. Translating and using quotes doesn't mean they are yours. In '11 minutes' you'll find him quoting the entire lyrics of a song by 'The Brothers Four', which eventually are based on verse from the Bible. Yet they figure as 'Quotes by Paolo Coelho' in the internet. I first coined this phrase in 1964 in Miami, Florida, well before John Lennon is said to have originated it. I said it as a joke, but it subsequently gained popularity and later was attributed to John Lennon. This did not originate with Mr. Lennon, but with me.
Saturday Night Live. John Lennon and Paul McCartney were watching the show together in a rare visit, and nearly took a cab to the studio for a joke, but both were too tired.
