Jimi Hendrix never wore sunglasses, even when he played at outdoor festivals in bright sunshine. There is only one photo of him with sunnies on, & they weren't rose coloured...

Roy Orbison...
No, he was not blind, he just chose to wear dark sunglasses when performing as part of the image he portrayed. He did suffer from myopia though and had to wear glasses, but during a flight over to England from the states he lost his normal glasses and had to wear his sunglasses instead, once he did he never went back to wearing normal ones.
they were prescription, much like jack nicholson's glasses, and hence why he wears them indoors. Roy Orbison was NOT blind, was NOT crosseyed and was NOT an albino. Lets get that out of the way. He did wear glasses because he had trouble seeing. Before a show he forgot his prescription (clear) glasses and the only prescription pair he had were sunglasses. Fabulous pictures were taken and he stayed with it. He also decided he liked them better.
Roy Orbison had myopia (eye disease) from the time he was young and had to wear thick glasses. When he got into the entertainment business he had thick corrective lenses. Roy Orbison wore the dark glasses as a stage imagine. His son does wear glasses, but there is no mention that he has myopia.
Roy Orbison's birth name is Roy Kelton Orbison.
