The University of Southern Colorado banned Van Halen and all rock concerts from campus after a March 1980 concert in the school gymnasium, destroyed the new gym floor, and the band trashed the Student Center when they found brown m&m's in the snacks. The student Concert Crew hadn't read the contract carefully enough, which led to incorrect stage construction. The m&m's clause was put in the contract by the band to make sure the contract was read, which it wasn't, and the rest is history.
