Why do my blinkers blink too fast and my rear brake lights not work?

That bulb is burnt out. When the circuit is not completed like with a blown bulb, the flasher unit will blink faster to let the driver know something is wrong with that side. It should only be faster with the side that is burnt out.

∙ 15y agohave you replaced the flasher? Did you use the correct bulb, when you replaced it?
Check your fuses there may be a problem there as well.

It typically means you have a bulb on that side not working. Can't remember if it's front or back. It doesn't matter what end of the car the burned out bulb is on. Just compare the good side blinkers with the bad side blinkers. what ever bulb or bulbs are bruned out will be fairly obvious, it also help to do this check in the shade, makes it easier to spot the burned out bulb.

There is a short in the system somehwere. If they blink normally without the trailor, check the trailor lights, sockets or wiring. If they blick fast all of the time, one of your bulbs is burnt out - change it and they will blink at normal speed. Everything is fine without the trailer, the trailer is new(does not mean much) but just found that my hazard system works fine with the trailer, which leads me to directional flasher could be bad. Not sure what Kind of car this is, but usually if the blinkers run fast it's because you have a bulb burnt out. I'd check your tailights first.
