because it is has a fast upbeat which gets te heart pumping. it is also generally happy and most ppl like to feel happy, therefore they enjoy watching or dancing jazz. also it isn't huge on technique as Ballet. it is relaxed and fun.
They play jazz because it is beautiful music. Why do people listen to jazz? It is a soothing music that just wraps its arms around you and hold you like a man or a woman would. It puts me in a wonderful frame of mind no matter what I may be going through or feeling.
So many great musicians played jazz there is a lot of history behind jazz.
I think that people do Jazz dance because they wanted to do dance but they didn't know what it was about so the tried it and ended up liking it and they just kept on doing it. HOPE THIS HELPS!
( that is what happened to me and i have been doing Jazz for 3 year's)
Well of course this is a matter of opinion but personally, I am in Jazz at my studio and I love it. It is fast but a combination of hip hop and ballet. Many people would agree that it is fun!!
people like jazz because it has a swing to it
Because it is very upbeat and challenging
Black..
For the same reasons straight people do.
It's where people play jazz music on the street.
No, this is a ridiculous idea. Any music is for anyone. Smooth Jazz is the only real music other than country, that is still acceptable to the history of our country. You can thank movies like Talladega Nights, for connecting a gay guy to Jazz. Now young people believe this to be true! Jazz music was the first kind of music recorded in America, by African Americans. Since then Jazz has taken many forms, including Smooth Jazz.
People do not like jazz, because people listen to music for different things. A jazz aficionado will always point out that jazz is the most challenging form of music. The problem is that most people do not listen to music to be challenged, but to be entertained. As jazz became established, it stopped absorbing outside influences and stagnated. Rock'nRoll is doing the same thing. All the heavy metal coming out now sounds just like Metalica. In fact, every sub genera sounds like a rehash of something done ten or thirty years ago. edit: I just wanted to add something pertaining to the way one listens to jazz in particular. Folk, Classical, Rock 'n Roll, and other forms of music do not act on the mind in the same way. There is an anticipation/satisfaction routine to the music. When the listener tries to listen to Jazz in the same way, the listener will only be become frustrated. To enjoy Jazz, the listener has to learn to "unlisten." A skilled musician has the ability to hear a lot more in music than I can, but I caught a Jazz musician listening to some flat, simplistic, and repetitive stuff that was supposed to be "The Blues." I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions from this observation.
Black..
Well people who like upbeat happy music and like to dance with attitude and spunk! When you dance jazz you have a bounce in your step and smile a lot!
People usually wanted something that they could dance to and that had good rhythm. Thus, jazz was born! (If you are still clueless, it's jazz)
because they did not like black people they did not hear about martin Luther king jazz is the most listened music out there
Saxophone is a popular instrument because it is popular in jazz also it has a nice clear sound. Many people like jazz or at least used to like jazz. I, myself play the saxophone, except i dont know exactly why i like it.

Jazz is jazz . . . there is no other word like it.
For the same reason that any music is performed. People like to play it and others like to listen to it!
