Music is, really, everything. Music relates to everyone. I, personally, believe that music is not just a collection of sounds. Music is what people look up to. you do not just hear music, you feel it, experience it, trust it, believe it. if you think music is instruments playing to an orchestra or band, then, you have the right idea, but that's only it's definition, not what it is, really. The music isn't right for you if you don't relate: feel the music. Music is you!

It depends on how loud the music is. But, even if your neighbors downstairs and upstairs can't hear the music, they still might be able to hear the beat thumping, which can be annoying (well, it doesn't really bother me, but it drives my mom crazy). Personally, I've never understood why people complain that they can't sleep because of their neighbor's music. Why don't they just buy some earplugs? Then everybody's happy. Best thing to do, I think, is to just play your music at whatever volume you feel is reasonable. If someone complains, then turn it down.
