pop, being one of my favorite types of music, makes me feel better when ive had a rough day or if im just feeling sad. it makes me get up and jump around and then, once my blood is pumping and im sweating, i feel better. i dont know why or how. it just makes me feel better. hope this answers your question.

∙ 13y agoThe reason Pop Music is so popular is because the generation it's in. Every generation has some form of "themesong". Now I am a part of the generation of this whole "epidemic" and find that the previous generation probably was more country or rock. Although this question is mostly about opinion. Everyone's styles and tastes are different, the main reason Pop Music is so popular is because the corrent generation likes cool rythmes and thinks the musicians are "hot" or "cool" like Justin Beiber. Another reason is that some people hate Justin Beiber and others like him, so to support them they buy everything about him and the others keep ranting. Thus, the main reasons are debate, and rythm.

∙ 11y agothe reason why pop is so popular could be to do with the fact that the music industry force-feeds us the tunes or it could be because the repetitive tones are catchy. Either way it has dominated the charts since the late 1990s.

However, "pop music" is generally thought to have originated in the 1950s and takes in rock n roll, country, latin, rap and gospel. Pop music is probably so popular because it can easily adopt other genres; in recent years Jai Ho, which started out as a song from a Bollywood musical has been released by Pussycat Dolls as a "poppy" record.
