In this particular case, it may be that Five Finger Death Punch actually wouldchoose death before dishonor, if they should ever find themselves in a situation in which those are their two only options. Or maybe they wouldn't. However, the music can be judged as music, without having to relate it to the lives of those who perform it. If the lyrics are lyrical and music is melodic, then the music succeeds as music.
