He wears them because he is blind and is used to them. Others have told him that he looks better that way.
Not all blind people wear sunglasses. Many blind that lost their sight later in life have very normal looking eyes. ray Charles had his eyes removed, and at the very least Stevies do not look normal. My son is blind, and I had the pleasure of meeting Stevies mom, and my son was really young at the time. She told me to get him use to the glasses, and we did. The young man on AI was not totally blind, and that is a really big difference.
