I know in mine which is a 4x4, it means the 4x4 is engaged. The little care picture thing is your vehicle information center. When it is in just 2 wheel drive, only the lights for the rear wheels should be on.
Hi have the same trouble with mine been told to replace the Dist Module also known as halleffect sensor Hope this helps Mike
put the transfer case in 2 wheel high, if the light stays on a while after it is because there is a vacuum issue and the indicator is showing the wrong gear, this used to happen on my cherokee, give it a few minutes, you'll feel the front diff disengage.
The factory had 2 possible tire sizes:215/75R15 and 225/75R15The largest ive seen without any rubbing (also the size i run on mine) are 235/75R15sUSE CAUTION WHEN DEVIATING FROM MAN SUGGESTED TIRE SIZE! I was in the tire business for several years, we saw A LOT of Jeeps come in with the wrong size tires on, and several of them had problems with the transfer case. It seemed that the Grand Cherokee was more prone to those issues, but several standard Cherokee's had the same problems.
Whatever someone is willing to pay for it. You should have it appraised by an art dealer if you really want to know. This assumes you can find one who's able to speak after showing it to them; they may be too busy laughing. Elvis on black velvet is pretty much the pinnacle of kitsch, and I'm not aware of any famous artist (though admittedly I'm not an art historian) named "Brasserie" (which is French for "brewery") whose medium of choice was oil on black velvet.

If this happens with an automatic transmission and throttle is in same position, about the only DIY check is transmission fluid level. If the engine randomly accelerates without a change in throttle position, check for an air intake leak between air filter and intake manifold, check for vacuum leak, also check the fuel pump. A handheld code reader with live reading capabilities can assist by showing fuel rail pressure, vaccum, RPM and throttle position.

The Haynes Jeep Cherokee 1984 - 1996 book has 7 different diagrams which show how to do that repair.
