Why does your rear window wiper work on your 2001 Blazer but the washer doesn't?

Had this happen on my Blazer the hose came disconnected in the tailgate and the washer fluid was emptying into the tailgate. You need to take the inside panel off to get at the hose to reconnect. Also dry your tailgate out. Needless to say I no longer use this option.

At the point the arm hinges at the base, There should be a small tab 1/8 of an inch or less. Hold the wiper blade up away from the windshield just a bit to releave the pressure. The tab pulls out 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch. This will let the arm pull straight up. You may need to pry slightly on the base to make it release. Put something between the wiper and the body so no scratches, gently pry up.

R/window wiper and washer are two separate things. Washer is simply a pump that squirts fluid onto window. First, have you checked the washer fluid level? How about the fuse? When you push the washer button can you hear the pump running? If not, possible bad pump, fuse or button. If so, maybe the pump is clogged or fluid delivery tube is plugged or disconnected. Simply replace the wiper. If that doesn't work, the wiper arm may be worn out, and doesn't have enough strength left to hold it against the window.

The fluid not spraying could be a clogged line or disconnected line or bad windshield washer motor. The rear wiper not working could be a bad wiper motor in the rear or unhooked linkage or fuse or relay. Check the fuses etc first.

I have had the exact same problem with my 1990 wrangler, I found out that unless the handel that allows you to open and shut the rear window is not in the exact closed position and the window is closed tight in place, the wiper will not work but the washer will. Just for fun once I realized this I tried to turn the rear wiper on with the window open and it did not work until I shut it. Hope it works for you.
