Why is Jimi Hendrix so important to black history?

He showed that the African American community can accomplish anything and nothing will stop them. Lets not forget that Mr. Jimi not only being black african american, he is/was also half native american as he is/was a Cherokee Indian!

Hendrix was a master of the guitar. Anybody can play fast, but it takes a real musician to incorporate soul into their playing, which Hendrix did better than most anyone. His lyrics were also amazing, especially on his second album, "Axis: Bold as Love", which, of course, has incredible guitar melodies and lead playing on songs like "Spanish Castle Magic" and "Little Wing", but also has some of the deepest lyrics around on songs like "Castles Made of Sand" and "Bold as Love". Jimi Hendrix was one of the most, if not the most, influential musicians of all-time.
