The reason she is Duchess Catherine of Cambridge and not Princess Catherine is because she is not royal. Technically she is a Princess she is just Princess William Arthur Phillip Louis not Princess Cathrine Elizabeth.
Princess and Duchess
No, but at the time of her birth her mother was a Duchess by marriage.
England doesn't have a king (England isn't even a country, it's like asking if Obama is the President of New York) It has a Queen for the moment, the Queen's Heir is Prince Charles the Prince of Wales who is married to Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall (Note: Camilla is the Princess of Wales, but uses the Title "Duchess of Cornwall" out of respect to the late Diana, Princess of Wales Charles' first wife)
The princess is obviously in a higher rank of any hierarchy no matter what age because she is the daughter of the king. However, the duchess is lower than the princess because she is not considered royalty.
The newly-weds, Prince William and Princess Catherine, are the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge
Neither. She is the Duchess of Cambridge.
No. She is Duchess of Cornwall.
Legally Camilla, Duchess Of Cornwall(As wife of he Prince Of Wales)is entitled to the style " HRH Princess Of Wales" However due to public feeling and out of consideration to the memory of the late Diana, Princess Of Wales she uses the title "HRH Duchess Of Cornwall" and "HRH duchess Of Rothesay" Bacicaly Meera!!
Camila Parker Bowles changed her religion from catholic to protestant beforethe wedding between prince Charles and Camila. Who was prince Charleses mistress for many years.
No she is not because they are not royalty. Technically Kate Middleton is not a Princess either. Her official title is HRH Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.
Lady Di's titles as a royal were : Her Royal Highness The Princess Charles Philip Arthur George, Princess of Wales & Countess of Chester, Duchess of Cornwall, Duchess of Rothesay, Countess of Carrick, Baroness of Renfrew, Lady of the Isles, Princess of Scotland
