β 11y agoKpop is popular because kpop is new and innovative, and is a very interesting and fun type of music containing all the genres one could possibly imagine.
Many people have recently found out about kpop due to a song titled "Gangnam Style" by Psy, a single artist who is part of YG Entertainment.
YG entertainment also owns the amazing groups "Big Bang" and "2NE1."

- People get bored
- Most American music is about sex and drugs
- Interesting, colorful, bright Music Videos
- Interesting MV concepts
- Urge to try something new
- Maybe because of Psy - silly and a bit crazy, fun to watch (but he's not the most famous in the kpop entertainment actually)
For the fans of boybands:
- In Singing, mostly the vocals kpop idols have higher vocals
- More attractive in some peoples' opinions?? (idk just my thoughts)
- Kpop idols train for years (as early as around age 11 or younger) and work the hardest, in some cases, when they are lucky enough to have a debut or comeback, they train until morning or maybe more with no sleep (Which is obviously harsher than your typical boybands

It is popular bc the idols do so many things differently to American Pop like: dancing (Kpop idols do it wayyy more and better), the music videos are much more visually appealing and they do so many more things for their fans.
