I found the original answer and my answer to this question. I also split a lot of the questions away from this one. Your answer came from the same source I got my answer from. Sorry, but that is definitely not the answer. Bohemian Rhapsody was released in 1975, long before Mercury knew he had AIDS. Freddie was flamboyant, an extrovert, and dramatic to say the least. But to say that he wrote this song because of the illness he died of 16 years later makes him a psychic as well as all of his other attributes. Queen states that Bohemian Rhapsody is about a young man who has accidental killed someone and, like Faust sold his soul to the devil. On the night before his execution, he calls for God in Arabic ("Bismillah" "Basmalah"), and with the help of angels, regains his soul from Shaitan. On the other hand, Kenny Everett (A radio and television personality), quoted Mercury as claiming the lyrics were "simple rhyming nonsense". Looks like Freddie took it to the grave!

To do with the band really. I know that the Band was struggling at this time money wise and also popularity wise so they needed an album to make them 'big'. This album was 'A Night at The Opera' and contained the great song that is Bohemian Rhaposdy. The band also had management troubles around this time. They noticed that as they were living the low life, management were living it up.
