More than likely you have a dead battery. Take the battery out and take it to any parts store. They will check the capacity of your battery and even go out to the parking lot after you get this beast started to check the output of your alternator to make sure there aren't any other issues.
If you still have power after the click then the problem is probably a faulty starter solenoid or relay. If no power after the click, check the battery cables for good connection.
sounds like a flat battery to me
check for a bad fuse.
full time 4wd model? clicks more in corners? CV joints on the front axle are going bad
If it just clicks and won't unscrew all you need to do is pry the top half of the cap off, and unscrew the bottom half with a pair of pliers.
there should be a tab in the turn signal switch that clicks the switch after you turn the wheel so far. Those have been know to wear out after time. A new switch will fix you right up.
In The End
battery needs charged or replaced. not to detract from the other guys answer, but you could also be experiencing a poor connection coming from the starter terminals or possibly have a faulty relay.
It means your bright headlights are on. You can control bright or normal with the turn signal lever. On some vehicles you just pull it gently towards you until it clicks to select bright or normal. On some newer models you push it gently away from you until your bright lights go to normal mode. Normal driving is with the blue light off.

This is often from a dead battery.
dead battery
Commonly CKP sensor or Starter. What does it do when you try to start it? clicks
turn the key? no start? check the battery connections. clean them make sure they are tight turn the key no start? turn on the headlights if you have bright headlights, the starter may be the issue. if you have no headlights, look at charging the battery after battery charge turn the key tries to start or clicks probably a dead battery if the car turns over and just won't start do you have gas? If the car turns over and tries to start that means the battery and starter are good now you need to find out why you are not either getting spark of fuel.
Only way i know of is to apply the parking brake before starting the vehicle. I think you can turn off the headlights with the Twilight Sentinel switch. Turn it all the way down (or up) until it clicks.
Turn the car off. push on the parking brake 1 or 2 clicks turn car on. the lights will not come on
To the left of the steering wheel, there are 2 dials and a knob, if you spin the far right dial all the way down until it clicks, the headlights will not turn on when it gets dark out or when you go through a tunnel etc.
if it does not turn over and no clicking noise but headlights on, check start fuse and relay if it doesnt turn over and clicks probable starter solenoid
I have a 2000 Cavalier that did the same thing with the DRL, and only one of the lights worked when I put on the headlights manually. Ended up being a burnt-out bulb that I had to replace. No wiring necessary.
nothing it could just be the tail lights coming on.
