On Elvis' birth certificate he was named Elvis Aron Presley. His first name was taken from his Father (i.e. Vernon Elvis Presley) and his middle name was taken either (as there are stories that vary from the Presley family) from The Bible or in homage/respect to a local Preacher at their Church.

In the mid 1970's Elvis instructed Vernon, his Father, to legally change his middle name from Aron to Aaron. Vernon verified that, for whatever reason(s), both the State of Mississippi/Tennessee and the Federal Government showed his middle name of "Aaron". Elvis and Vernon were pleasantly surprised to learn of his as Elvis wanted his legal middle name to be spelled like the biblical Aaron.
