Why was Ringo Starr in hospital?

His appendix burst when he was about five; complications set in, and he spent several weeks in a coma. He fell out of bed reaching to show a toy to a roommate and was injured, and his hospital visit stretched out to a year.

There was no school or tutoring program at the hospital; he fell far behind in his studies, and learned to read and write with the help a neighbor girl, who became his babysitter.

At thirteen he developed pleurisy and ended up back in the hospital. He was diagnosed with tuberculosis, and spent a further two years recovering. The children's ward organized a band at one point, and he became its drummer.

Ringo has been in the hospital many times (at least I think you mean hospital, I am not entirely sure what a hospitail is) and the first time was when he was seven years old and his appendix burst, putting him in a coma for several weeks. he was VERY lucky to survive. Then when he was 13 he had chronic pleurisy, causing him to be hospitalized again, and by the time he recovered he was 15. he was so far behind he dropped out of school at that point. Then, the next time I know of was in 1964 (I think he was 24) he had a very high fever and collapsed, and he had his tonsils removed. after that there has been more times, I'm sure

Ringo Starr was in hospital in 1964 to have his tonsils removed, and as such missed the Australasian tour, and was replaced by Jimmy Nicol for that time.
