When did you first realize you wanted to make a career out of music?

I was about 12 years old when I really started practicing and taking my singing and music seriously. By then, I knew it was something I loved and wanted to do for the rest of my life.

You've toured with Fifth Harmony, Cher Lloyd, and Cody Simpson. What has this experience taught you?

Work really hard. Be nice to everyone and treat your fans like family. Every artist I have been lucky to tour with has been incredibly talented and so welcoming to me and my team.

Who are some of your biggest musical influences?

John Mayer, Jay-Z, Billy Joel, OneRepublic, Coldplay, Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, Queen, Maroon 5... The list goes on and on...

Lucy Hale played your love interest in your 2012 music video "Come Back Down to Earth." What was it like working with her?

She was so sweet, talented, and beautiful. She's got so much going for her and is well on her way to being one of the best new young entertainers! Lucy is truly a gem.

What's your favorite and least favorite part about being on the road?

My favorite part is meeting new people and performing my music for fans. My least favorite part is being away from my friends and family.

What's the one thing you can't live without while on tour?

My cell phone and camera. I like to keep contact with friends and family back home, and have a camera to capture all the memories.

If you could relive any one performance, which would you choose?

I would say performing all over Europe this summer with Cody Simpson was an amazing experience. If I could relive that whole tour that would be amazing!

Were you born with a natural ability to sing, or did you have to work for it?

I think I was born with an ability to sing, but I had to work on it like any other skill. Your voice is like muscle that you need to work out and train.

Do any of the songs on your new album have an extra special meaning to you?

All of them have special meaning to me. They all came from a place of real emotion. It's like they are little chapters of the story of my life.
