Okay, I asked this question but I'm still learning how to work this site. I don't know how to go back in and edit my question and I need to because I think I need to clarify.
I'm going to go see family for about a month. I have a feeling I won't be able to do much singing in this time period. Normally I wouldn't worry, but recently I went about two or three weeks without singing at all and I lost a lot of the control I had of my voice as well as some of the strength I'd had while singing higher notes. I worked hard and was able to regain both abilities, but know that I'm not going to be singing for all this time, I'm worried it'll have an even worse effect on me. Unless it was all in my head, I don't know. Singing means a lot to me as I want to major in musical theater and minor in voice (if that's a minor, I actually haven't checked) and then go on to be a performer, hopefully on Broadway.
This really means a lot to me so any advice you have would be great, thanks.
I'm having a very similar issue to your own right now. I recently spent 2 weeks at the beach for a family reunion, and wasn't able to sing full-voice, or even half voice very often. I'm not sure if that caused this, but on the last morning, I woke up without a voice, even though I had only sung one song at a talent show the nigh before. I hadn't warmed up, and I didn't feel any strain, but I may have shocked my vocal chords or something from the sudden activity after two weeks of inactivity. It's kind of like when you stop exercising for a while, and you can't just jump into your normal routine again. You have to work your way up to it. Plus I was constantly going outside in blistering heat to inside with arctic temperatures, which effects the voice. I lost my voice a week from yesterday, and I have almost all of it back, except for my high belt (belt above Eb). I would suggest that throughout your trip, you continue using your voice. Hum, sing quietly, do soft vocal exercises, and sing full voice when you get a chance (in the bathroom, in the car, etc.) Also when you get home and get the chance to really sing for the first time, warm up a substantial amount so as not to shock them like I may have. I'm not a vocal teacher so I may be way off, but I also hope to be a performer! Good luck!!!
no it wont damage it but it will improve it a whole lot. If you sing over 4 hours a day be careful, you may lose your voice and 95 percent of peoples voices dont come back without surgery. But unlike me i sing up to 6 or 7 hours a day. i have trained my voice to be able to go on and on without dying. but the answer is no it just makes you better

No, she doesn't smoke. After all, how would she able to maintain her singing voice if she did so.
The truth is that everyone is born with a singing voice but you may not feel like you have a singing voice if you think you are bad. To learn singing you must find a voice teacher to help you. They are great because they can hear what you need to improve on. If you get a voice teacher you will be able to find your "true" singing voice. Your true singing voice is the voice that is easy to find with a voice teacher. Once you find your "true" singing voice high notes will come naturally. You will also feel like singing high notes require less effort (they actually do) and you are supppossed to use less air to sing them. Hope this helps you out, have fun learning to improve and find your "true" singing voice with a voice teacher. You can look in the phone book under the yellow pages for voice teachers and if it is not there ask your friends. I secretly asked one of my friends how they are very good at singing and that person told me that they have a voice teacher. It is true that you may not think a voice teacher is necessary but a lot of people you know now probably have one and they just don't tell everyone. Just to let you know I have a voice teacher and she sure helps me a lot. Not to be rude but it is best to have a voice teacher that is the same sex as you because if you are a female they can help you sing high notes and if you are male they can help you out on those lower notes.
They are not convergent. Bats are able to fly while chickens are losing that ability.

well tbh it is hard but i believe it is possible: do vocal exercises to warm your voice up, stand when you sing, singing at a normal level. lost of people want to be able to sing and it is hard but i think all you need to be is confident in your voice and have fun when you sing don't let it be a chore :D
I am not able to browse the internet to provide specific links. However, you can search online for "health videos on the human voice" to find educational videos that discuss voice care, vocal health, and proper techniques for speaking and singing.
Justin Bieber's voice has broken on The Easter weekend at a party in the White House.Well kinda, its in the process, its slowly cracking and yes he will still be able to sing high notes because he is getting singing lessons for it :):)
A music or specialist vocal coach would be used to help one achieve singing success. They would be able to help one hit certain notes and control their voice and breathing.
Strong baritone is the voice part of the Scarecrow in the stage production of "The Wizard of Oz."Specifically, the Scarecrow needs to be strong in acting, dancing and singing. He must be smooth, flexible and acrobatic in the dance sequences even though he can be clumsy in his gait. He has to be able to coordinate strong dancing and singing sequences.
you can train your voice to widen the range. it is a good idea to make sure you are always hydrated, though, although not gallons as this can kill you. make sure you always warm up your voice and are singing from your tummy. you can tell if you are doing this by putting your hand on your diafragm and panting, almost like a dog, and if your diafragm goes in and out, this is how you should breathe when you are singing. another way is to put your hands on your hips and if they push apart when you are singing then you are doing it right.
You may be able to make a voice sound like Miku is singing by turning up the pitch on a girl's voice (a guy would just sound like a chipmunk). I'm sure that some female voice could be tweaked to sound like Miku Hatsune. However, since she's a computer program, Miku's voice doesn't sound as natural as our voices. So the reverse is true; if you edited a voice to have the same pitch as Miku, it would sound too realistic to be mistaken for Miku actually singing (unless the person was singing like Miku in the first place). Still, it's fun to try!
