One of the late Tupac Shakur's most notable arrest was in New York on November 18, 1993, a result of his sexual abuse and sodomy of a 19-year-old female. He was not sentenced for this crime until 1995, when he was ordered to serve up to four and a half years. After several months in prison, the infamous rapper was released. This incident, however, represents only a fragment of his criminal history. In Marine City, Michigan on August 22, 1992, he was involved in a fight which resulted in a stray bullet hitting a child. On April 5, 1993, Shakur was sentenced to ten days in prison in Lansing, Michigan, after hitting another rapper with a baseball bat. On October 31, 1993, he was accused of shooting two off-duty policemen in Atlanta, Georgia, but chargers were later dropped. March 10, 1994, was the day that Tupac was demanded to serve fifteen days in prison in Los Angeles, California after assaulting film director Allen Hughes. Shakur died in 1996 after attending a boxing match in Las Vegas, Nevada, which was the site of another altercation that ultimately led to the shooting that caused his death.

Tupac and BiggieTupac Amaru Shakur (June 16, 1971 - September 13, 1996), known by his stage names 2Pac (or simply Pac) and Makaveli, was an American rapper. He has sold 75 million albums to date and is one of the best-selling music artists in the world.[2] In addition to his status as a top-selling recording artist, Shakur was a promising actor[3] and a social activist. Most of Shakur's songs are about growing up amid violence and hardship in ghettos, racism, problems in society and conflicts with other rappers. Shakur's work is known for advocating egalitarianism.[4] Shakur was initially a roadie and backup dancer for the alternative hip hop group Digital Underground.[5][6]Shakur became the target of lawsuits and experienced other legal problems. He was later shot five times and robbed in the lobby of a recording studio in New York City. Following the event, Shakur grew suspicious that other figures in the rap industry had prior knowledge of the incident and did not warn him; the controversy helped spark the East Coast-West Coast hip hop rivalry. Shakur was later convicted of sexual assault and sentenced to one and half to four and a half years in prison.[7][8][9] After serving eleven months of his sentence he was released from prison on an appeal financed by Marion "Suge" Knight, the CEO of Death Row Records. In exchange for Suge's assistance, Shakur agreed to release three albums under the Death Row label. On the night of September 7, 1996, Shakur was shot four times in a drive-by shooting in the Las Vegas metropolitan area in Nevada. He died six days later of respiratory failure and cardiac arrest at the University Medical Center.[10]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tupac_Shakur
