What is the universal theme for you hear America singing?

Admired the workers, he's worker himself, also admiring that these working class people help to build America. A country of people working for the greater good of mankind. These people come together as part of a whole society developing industry and production. Whitman's attitude toward Americans is uplifting and positive. He exalts Americans and the hard labor they perform and sees it as a promising land where each person is unique (line 8 and 9) in the poem. He's humanist so he studies about human (positively most of the time). Each person is important in society. Each person is needed for the various trades that make the country run smoothly. Without a skilled person in every job needed, the other fields may suffer. Women and men are equal. I like how Whitman expresses his feelings and attitudes toward women. Women's jobs are as important as men, without women, men won't complete their jobs and needed. This poem also stands for American individualism. Whitman's title does not mean that America is singing a song, he meant that every sound from each job in the labor, together making music and become a song and celebrating.

Why does your singing voice go away and become hoarse off and on?

Well is your throat scratchy or hurting? If yes: Take a pinch (or 2) of regular table salt and put it in your throat. NOT ON YOUR TONGUE. You do not want to taste salt. Swallow the salt BEFORE it dissolves. Then drink a glass of water. Try singing. If it doesn't work continue reading this answer. If no: KEEP READING. Okay, if it wasn't the throat issue, have you just began singing? If yes: Maybe you just can't sing. Maybe you just don't have it in you. Sorry. If no: Here is the BIG answer: You probably of that thick saliva stuck inn your throat try un clogging it. If no, have you seen a voice controller yet? Try that. If yes, maybe the song you're singing is for a stronger voice. I never had this problem, my voice is naturally good, maybe its the fact I am born on the same day as Elvis Presley (I am MUCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH younger, however.) So just see a controller, your voice may not be good enough for singing. Trust me I know this stuff. Source: Singing for 9 years, since I was 2!!! (I got permission from my mother to go on this. Its her account).
