Printing Press

An invention in music is a new technique, instrument, or technology that changes how music is created or performed. These inventions can lead to the development of new musical genres by inspiring artists to experiment with different sounds and styles. For example, the invention of the electric guitar revolutionized rock music and led to the creation of new subgenres like heavy metal and punk rock.
The invention of the printing press in the 15th century had the greatest impact on musical compositions during the Renaissance. It allowed for the mass production of music notation, making scores more accessible to composers and musicians. This facilitated the dissemination of new musical ideas and styles, promoting collaboration and innovation across Europe. As a result, it contributed significantly to the evolution of polyphony and the standardization of musical practices.

The Cassette came out before the CD did. The first Cassette player came in 1973, while the first CD player came out in 1982.
